This is a must have for September, and Apple Season! You will never go back to jarred again......
HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE
1/2 cup water
7 1/2 cups apples, cored, peeled and quartered
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Bring water to a boil in heavy saucepan; add apples and return to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 - 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add remaining ingredients; stir well. Serve warm or cold. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Ok, finally had the time to log into your blog and read from the beginning. Yep, you could get paid to write stories. I LOVE reading them. You mentioned it being therapeutic for you . . . well, it definitely is for me. Can't imagine having more than one kid at this point in time. As for the recipes . . . you're much better at getting that meal on the table freshly cooked. I'm thinking in terms of Hamburger Helper and boxed mashed potatoes. Guess cooking is not my forte but I certainly enjoy reading your recipes and just maybe I'll try 'em out one day.
